Our teams deliver the core services that help Flatiron and NoMad thrive every day, but we are nothing if not aspirational. Throughout the year we focus on new and ongoing initiatives to meet our stakeholders’ evolving needs, working toward a shared vision to support the district’s vibrancy into the future.
Broadway Vision
We’re proud to work with NYC DOT on their Broadway Vision program, which offers designs that can be installed based on block-by-block community and stakeholder input. Broadway Vision in Flatiron and NoMad increases public space, calms traffic, and fosters a safe, inviting corridor for walking, dining, and bicycling.
Our staff works diligently with NYC DOT, Madison Square Park Conservancy, and NYC DDC on the design of the permanent version of our iconic public spaces, the Flatiron Public Plazas, and Worth Square.
In October of 2021 we launched the NoMad Piazza Pop-Up on Broadway, from 25th to 27th Streets. This seasonal plaza builds off the success of NYC DOT’s Open Streets and outdoor dining programs and reflects our long-term vision of a pedestrian-first Broadway corridor.
On January 1, 2022, our long-awaited BID expansion became official, nearly doubling the size of our district. Since then, we have provided our services to a larger footprint that includes 20th Street, Sixth Avenue up to 31st Street, and more of NoMad.
As our district grew to include NoMad in 2022, our staff and board worked with branding and design firms La Placa Cohen and Pentagram to reimagine the look and feel of our organization and reintroduce it as the Flatiron NoMad Partnership. Through this fresh new brand, as vibrant and timeless as the neighborhood itself, we’re signaling to the City (and the world!) that this district is an epicenter of possibility.
